Boku Acupuncture is named after my brother. Boku was his Japanese nickname. His passing at a young age shortly after I graduated from acupuncture school strongly influenced how I practice natural medicine. All the treatments I do in my clinic are dedicated to his memory. I truly value hearing every aspect of a person's symptoms, what may be happening in their life, and what their health goals are, without judgement, so that I may be an effective partner in their journey to health.
Over the years, I have expanded my knowledge and services, integrating my acupuncture treatments with advances in modern wellness with herbs, nutrients, and most recently scar healing treatments with medical grade serums to customize treatments for each individual’s needs to feel whole and well. I am humbled daily for the trust given to me to be part of a person's healthcare team, and I am so grateful to be able to share my passion for natural healing with others. It would truly be a privilege to work with you.
Dr. Walter obtained her medical degree from the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine, New York in New York City in 2006. She interned at the NYU Hospital for Joint Diseases treating individuals with MS, and the St. Vincent's Comprehensive Cancer Center within their CAM department. She pursued further training in Beijing, China with the late Dr. Wang Ju Yi in Applied Channel Theory, a deeper study into the art, history and philosophy of the medicine, and its modern applications in diagnosis and treatment using palpation techniques to assess the meridians.
She continued to expand her knowledge with pioneers in integrative health to incorporate scienced-based wellness therapies into her practice, such as amino acid therapy for neurotransmitter restoration with clinical psychologist Julia Ross, stretch therapy for fascial tissue restrictions with Ann and Chris Frederick, founders of the Stretch To Win Institute, and more recently Gemmotherapy plant stem cell extracts with herbalist and homeopath Lauren Hubele in aiding our body's systems to function optimally.
Dr. Walter has served the community of Las Vegas since 2008. She began by working at the Pain Clinic, a large integrative chiropractic office, for 5 years before opening Boku Acupuncture. She also consulted with Las Vegas Recovery Center, an in-patient opiate and substance abuse addiction clinic, from 2009 until its closure in 2020.
She has been in private practice since 2014.
