I am a practitioner of Oriental medicine, which includes acupuncture, herbal medicine, and nutritional counselling, among other types of treatment.
While attending college at the University of California at Santa Barbara, I experienced my first acupuncture treatment. At the time, I knew absolutely nothing of this system of medicine. Despite having Japanese heritage on my mother’s side, I was quite unfamiliar with anything related to traditional Asian medicine. I was so impressed, however, with my first acupuncture experience that I developed an insatiable curiosity about natural healing. I just had to learn more, so I chose to pursue formal studies.
I have since earned my Master’s degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine from the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in New York, where I completed externships at St. Vincent’s Comprehensive Cancer Center and with the Initiative for Women with Disabilities program at NYU’s Hospital for Joint Diseases. I have also had the privilege of pursuing advanced studies with renowned physician Dr. Wang Ju-Yi in Beijing, China. My style of practice and needle technique is strongly influenced by my studies with him.
I continue my studies to this day with prominent acupuncturists and herbalists both in the US and China, as well as with pioneers involved in innovative science-based wellness therapies, to ensure that I continue to expand my knowledge and skills.

What To Expect
We begin with a 30 minute complimentary consultation. We will discuss your current state of health, your personal health goals, potential treatment strategies, and outline an initial treatment plan.
During your initial course of treatment, further laboratory investigation may be done and lifestyle recommendations are given.
After this initial series of visits, we reassess and reevaluate your progress to determine continuing care.
Please note that for chronic, long-term and complex conditions, a course of treatment often spans over a period of 12 weeks on average. Once the condition has been stabilized, and/or maximum benefit has been achieved, follow-up treatments are reduced so that maintenance visits can continue every 3 to 4 months.
Acupuncture is similar to physical therapy in that a series of consistent visits are required to produce optimal results that are long-lasting over time. That is why it is really important to note that while you may feel wonderful after the first session, it is still only the first stepping stone.
